THE WIND BOOK FOR RIFLE SHOOTERS
|
| Description |
The Most Comprehensive and Informative Long Range Rifle Shooting Wind Book
by Linda K Miller and Captain Keith Cunningham
All other factors being equal, it is your ability to read the wind that will make
the most difference in your shooting accuracy. The better you understand the behavior
of the wind, the better you will understand the behavior of your bullet.
Now, champion shooters Linda K. Miller and Keith A. Cunningham reveal everything
they wish they'd known about reading the wind before they started shooting — instead
of having to learn as they went along — in concise, easy-to-read terms.
The Wind Book for Rifle Shooters contains straightforward guidance on the simple
thought process they use to read the wind, the techniques and tactics they use to win
matches and the underlying skills that support both. Let these champions show you how
to put together a simple wind-reading "toolbox" for calculating wind speed,
direction, deflection and drift. Then learn how to use these tools to read flags and mirage,
record and interpret your observations, and time your shots to compensate for wind.
The essential wind-reading basics taught in this book will absolutely improve your shooting skills,
whether you're a target shooter, a plinker, a hunter or a shooting professional.
Capt. Keith A. Cunningham (Ret) is the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Instructor
of MilCun Marksmanship Training Centre.
Keith is a career military
officer with a combined time of over 25 years experience with the Canadian Forces and
the US Army, including a combat tour in Viet Nam, peacekeeping and counter-sniper operations
overseas and instructing at the Canadian Forces Infantry School. Keith is a qualified gunsmith
specializing in long-range practical rifles, an internationally renowned rifle and pistol
competitor, a member of the Canadian Forces Sports Hall of Fame and the Dominion of Canada
Rifle Association Hall of Fame (in both the target rifle and service rifle categories).
Keith is the 2008 and 2009 national service rifle and national 3-gun
(pistol, service rifle, sniper rifle) champion.
The Chief Executive Officer and Coaching Specialist is Linda K. Miller. Linda has over
20 years of business experience, and considerable experience in international smallbore
target shooting, having won medals in World Cups and Commonwealth Games. In 1999 Linda
became the first and only woman to win the Ontario Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for
shooting in their 125 year history. Linda is the 2008 national sniper marksmanship champion.
Keith and Linda hold many provincial and national titles and records, and have been members of
several Canadian teams to international Championships throughout the world. They are both
recognized as international coaches and in 2007, 2008 and 2009, they coached the Canadian
Forces Combat Shooting Team to many honors at Bisley, England. In addition, they have coached 13 members
of the military to a Queen’s Medal, the top award for marksmanship within the Canadian Forces.
